The hardest things about being a mom

Being a mom is the best job in the world. And no matter how amazing, and rewording it is, it’s still a full-time job, and it’s perfectly fine to admit that. Being a mom is challenging in general. You have sleepless nights, and tantrums and your heart are ripped in two when your child is sick or hurting. I tell you, this job is not for sissies.

So I round up the 10 most difficult things about being a mom so that you know that you are not alone in this.

Constant judgment

One of the hardest things about being a mom is the constant judgment. You feel like you have to defend every choice you make, and that’s not ok. You shouldn’t have to defend your parenting choices to anyone.

Dealing with emotions

It is hard to manage your emotions as a mom. You feel like you are riding an emotional roller-coaster day in and day out. And it can be draining. IT’s ok to admit that because nobody is perfect. You shouldn’t be ashamed to admit that.

The constant wondering if you are good enough

You are constantly wondering if you are a good mother, and is there anything you could do better.

Learning to trust your mommy instincts.

Sometimes it’s hard to learn how to trust your instincts, especially when everyone around you seems to have an opinion on everything you do. Especially when you are a first-time mom. It is necessary to trust your gut and do what you believe is best.

Never being able to switch off

It’s hard not to be able to completely shut yourself off from everyone and everything when you’re facing a bad day. If everything is getting too much, you can’t run away from it all.

The constant worrying

You can’t escape constant worrying, and it sucks big time. From the moment they are born, until your last breath, you will never stop worrying about your children.

Constantly feeling tired

Nobody talks about how tired you are going to feel when you become a mom. Especially now, because of this COVID-19 when I am at home with them 24/7, and I never felt this tired in my entire life.

Trying not to shout

I know I shouldn’t shout, and I feel guilty after that, but sometimes it’s hard to keep calm after you watch your kids fight all day.

Watching them grow up

Watching your children grow up is bittersweet. Times goes by way to fast, and it’s sometimes hard to accept that they are not going to need you 24/7.

Lack of support

I often think about how easier it would be if I had a village of women around me, instead of doing everything your self. As the saying goes: Ït takes a village to raise a child.“ It would be nice to experience that.

Tell me in the comments below, what part of being a mom you found most difficult?

Until next time, my darlings, please stay safe, I love you, and I will talk to you soon.
